Calgren Wins Award for Biofuel Partnership

Calgren Wins Award for Biofuel Partnership

Lyle Schlyer and the team at Calgren Dairy Fuels in Pixley, CA are partnering with local fuel and dairy industries to lower the carbon footprint of both.  Via underground piping, Calgren will send biogas from dairy waste to the site of its existing 55MMgy ethanol plant.  The facility also comprises a 5 MMgy biodiesel facility, 11 MW of biogas-based electricity production, and a carbon capture and liquefaction operation.

BBI International and Biomass Magazine Groundbreaker of the Year Award is designed to recognize people, companies or organizations advancing the bioenergy industry for their efforts on a commercial-scale biomass-to-energy project.  This year’s winner, Calgren Dairy Fuels, has a 14-dairy farm digester-to-renewable natural biofuel gas project underway in California.

Calgren Dairy Fuels President Lyle Schlyer accepted the award.  BBI International and Biomass Magazine named its annual industry award winners at the 11th International Biomass Conference & Expo this spring in Atlanta, Georgia.  Calgren Dairy Fuels is one of Flyers Energy‘s ongoing investments in renewable fuels.
